During my recent business trip to Montreux, I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Du Grand Lac Excelsior, a charming belle époque hotel right by the lake. The breathtaking views of Lake Geneva and the Alps were a stunning backdrop, especially from my balcony, where I often sipped coffee while soaking in the serene atmosphere. The hotel's location, just a short distance from downtown with convenient bus access, made it easy for us to explore the area on our downtime. While the ambiance was delightful, my room's mattress left a bit to be desired, leading to some backache after three nights-definitely something I hope they address. We enjoyed a fantastic breakfast spread, catering to both vegetarians and vegans, and the attentive staff made sure our needs were met. The facilities, including the spa and semi-Olympic swimming pool, allowed me to unwind despite the minor inconveniences. If they can upgrade the mattresses and consider noise control from neighboring rooms, I'd return in a heartbeat for the enchanting views and the warm Mediterranean vibes!
